Indoor Seeds  Icon

For our Area - Start Seeds Indoors Apr 1-15

Seeds are best to start on a seedling heat mat.

Soil temperatures must be 70 degrees for higher for germination of seeds.

Seedlings will sprout in 10-14 days

For the 2023 season, I will be starting all the seeds and handing out plants to the group. The pumpkin plants will be about 6-8 weeks old when ready to plant outdoors around Mid May.

Outdoor Planting  Icon

Choose a sunny location and plant 2 weeks after all danger of frost has passed.

For our Area - Plant Seedlings or Transplants Outdoors May 6-20

Amend garden with copious amounts of compost and/or manure.

Pumpkins like a soil pH of 6.5 to 7

For best results allow only 1 pumpkin per vine.

On average, our last spring frost occurs on April 22 (at HYANNIS, MA climate station, elevation 59 feet).

More detailed planting information will be available before our mid May planting target.
